今天來聽古典樂巴洛克樂派的知名音樂家：巴赫、韓德爾、韋瓦第的經典作品。「巴洛克」一詞源自西班牙文，意思是指醜怪、變形有缺陷的珍珠，被人用來形容17、18世紀建築物重視對稱、裝飾的風格，本來偏向貶意，後來卻成為一個時代風格的代名詞，在音樂領域上，即是指17、18世紀的音樂風格。巴洛克樂派指的就是17~18世紀的音樂風格，這段時期的音樂風格是複音音樂，也就是有二種或是二種以上的旋律同時進行，如同建築裡的華麗裝飾效果，一起來聽聽這樣的音樂表現形式吧

The six Cello Suites, BWV 1007 to 1012, are suites for unaccompanied cello by Johann Sebastian Bach. They are some of the most frequently performed and recognizable solo compositions ever written for cello. Bach most likely composed them during the period 1717–23, when he served as a Kapellmeister in Köthen. The title of the Anna Magdalena Bach manuscript was Suites á Violoncello Solo senza Basso (Suites for cello solo without bass).

Messiah (HWV 56) is an English-language oratorio composed in 1741 by George Frideric Handel, with a scriptural text compiled by Charles Jennens from the King James Bible, and from the Psalms included with the Book of Common Prayer. It was first performed in Dublin on 13 April 1742 and received its London premiere nearly a year later. After an initially modest public reception, the oratorio gained in popularity, eventually becoming one of the best-known and most frequently performed choral works in Western music.
